Bill has over four decades of quality leadership for multiple Fortune 500 companies ranging from health care, finance, and high-tech manufacturing to food production and distribution. Companies that Bill has worked with include UnitedHealth Group, Seagate, GE and Pillsbury, among others. Most recently Bill founded William Metz Associates to provide strategic consulting services focused on building management processes and systems for improving Client, Consumer, and Supplier experience.

As a Master Black Belt, Bill’s passion for Quality as defined by the customer has driven his career for two decades. He implemented Quality Management Systems at several companies by drawing on the practices and methods of the early quality pioneers as well as current best practices such as Six Sigma and Lean. Bill is one of the first to leverage quality methods in the digital transformation and business process improvement space.

Bill holds an MBA in Quality Management Systems from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota. Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors for Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE) and is one of their fundraising leaders. An avid cyclist, he organizes Tour de SAVE, an annual fundraising event that has raised over $200K. He has also organized and led several company-sponsored bike teams for various charities.
