Bob has 40 years of experience working with a wide variety of small and large companies, including Medtronic, Coca-Cola, Thompson Reuters, and Jostens. Most of Bob’s work, however, has been with mid-sized companies focusing on improving the alignment of operations to a strong market strategy.
Bob has worked with over 300 companies using lean and constraint management tools to improve key business goals such as cash flow, on-time delivery, quick response/short lead times, etc. Bob has written a book that summarizes his unique approach to operational improvements called “Extreme Lean.” Bob has significant experience with operations, production, production scheduling, supply chain management, facility layouts, value chain management, engineering/new product development cycle time reductions, and inventory management and has worked with over 40 distributors including Cree/Econolight, Thompson Reuters, and Banta (now part of RR Donnelly). Bob has held virtually all the key positions in manufacturing, from purchasing to controller/CFO, CEO, VP Operations/COO.
Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota and has three professional certifications. He passed the CPA exam in one attempt in 1985 and became a Jonah (constraints management certification) in the mid-90’s.
