James is a management consultant with functional experience in multinationals, where he led marketing teams in developing and executing growth strategies. As businesses transform to facilitate growth, he’s seen that the best platforms arise when people and processes are prioritized higher than software selection (i.e. technology should cater to your people and processes – not vice versa). Exclusively focusing on B2B companies, he enjoys helping small- and medium-sized companies punch above their weight and confidently compete in the global marketplace.

Organizations frequently struggle to gain full traction for new growth initiatives, jeopardizing speed-to-market for new products and undermining confidence of front-line teams. James helps leaders in B2B companies systematically accelerate growth, whether by tailoring systems to unleash sales and marketing teams, producing effective go-to-market plans for new tech-based products and services, or effectively engaging international teams to embrace change.

James’ expertise has frequently taken him overseas and he has earned accolades for his work alongside international partners. He has directly supported business leaders in countless regions and led on-site growth strategy sessions in 18 different countries.

James earned a BA from Colorado College and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He loves mentoring high potential employees and students, helping them learn from his practical, real-world experiences of working with business partners around the world. James volunteers as a member of the Board of Advisors in the Carlson Ventures Enterprise at the University of Minnesota and is a guest lecturer for the Marketing Department of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado – Boulder.
